World Health Assembly

Ensuring Global Health: Preventing Future Pandemics via Оne Health Approach

The World Health Assembly serves as the decision-making body of the WHO, with delegations from all WHO Member States participating. It addresses a specific health agenda set by the Executive Board. Its primary roles include shaping the Organization's policies, appointing the Director-General, overseeing financial policies, and reviewing and approving the proposed program budget.

The topic of pandemics has again become part of our lives in recent years. From 2019 to 2022, the world was gripped by the COVID-19 pandemic, which claimed many victims. The reasons for the many deaths are innumerable, but we should point out the main ones.

  • The first is that the doctors did not know what the disease they were facing.
  • The second is that countries have not taken the right measures to deal with the pandemic effectively and quickly. Human rights and freedoms were not respected.
On the current model of the UN General Assembly, the topic of discussion is dedicated to global pandemics. The question that humanity has asked itself since the end of the last global pandemic (COVID-19) is how to prevent a new pandemic. If you believe that countries and peoples with joint efforts can improve their way of life and learn to value and protect their health - share your ideas!
